Snapdragon Inn has been testing different sales strategies in the online and discount channel markets trying to buck industry trends and create sales programs that work for our particular property year round.  So you may see us all over the web in the coming weeks as we explore partnerships with highly localized travel partners as well as some of the big players in this travel segment.

Today we launch a five day “flash sale” with our partners at Jetsetter.  Jetsetter is a bit different than some other online sales sites. They send travel editors (actual real live experienced travel writers) to many of their partner properties, perform a lot of due diligence, and of course look for the most exciting mix of deals for their members.  You can search their site by theme or by geographic location and they have plenty of appealing options for all types of travelers. We are happy to work with them and look forward to the next five days as we test another marketing opportunity for our growing brand. Plus you can get a sweet deal on a room at Snapdragon Inn by checking out the current sales event.

Last weekend, we all headed out to Brownsville for the perfect midwinter activity–a bonfire! The sky was clear, the night was cold (but not too cold) and there were enough smore makings to go around. One particular little Snapper (not naming names) snuck enough chocolate for the group

The kids enjoyed wearing headlamps and running around the field and the big people mingled by the fire sipping warm apple cider and enjoying the clear winter’s eve and the warmth of the fire.

We had an extra romantic weekend at the Inn; One of our couples get engaged! We helped get the champagne, strawberries, and roses ready for the big ask and she said, “YES!”

We also put together special Valentines for our weekend couples. There is nothing quite like a little handmade Valentine and some chocolate of course!

A new amenity we have been offering our guests are massages and it has been very popular. Later this month, we will officially launch Snapdragon Spa when we will also release an exciting menu of facials and other revitalizing treatments open to the public. Happy February everyone! It’s been busy week at the Snapdragon Inn and we are gearing up for another sold out weekend. This was a lovely review from one of our mid-week guests

Snapdragon Inn is the place to stay in Vermont! The rooms are impeccably decorated and have the most comfortable beds you will ever sleep in. In addition to creating a very peaceful environment, the owners have preserved the unique history of the inn…making it a true destination.Not only are the accommodations and amenities top notch, the entire staff at the Snapdragon Inn are people who put you at ease. They give just the right of amount of attention to your stay and provide the comfort of genuine hospitality. I wanted to unpack and stay awhile. This is an exceptionally beautiful inn where you feel right at home.

Thanks to everyone who attended our first meet-up of 2012 and for the unfolding discussion of “Suite Francaise” but Irene Nemirovsky. If you haven’t read it or skipped the Appendices at the end, go back and read them! They add a complexity and a revealing layer to the book. Haunting, thought-provoking, humorous, and a true re-telling of human nature during war, and one that the characters have no idea is just beginning.

February’s book will take us back a few decades, over the Atlantic to Chicago, and gives life and voice to an American icon:  “Loving Frank” by Nancy Horan

 I have been standing on the side of life, watching it float by. I want to swim in the river. I want to feel the current.

 So writes Mamah Borthwick Cheney in her diary as she struggles to justify her clandestine love affair with Frank Lloyd Wright.
